Ambition, International, Service
Studying abroad created a gateway for me to not only to have the opportunity to learn a variety of cultures, but it helped me grow as a person. I come from a family with multicultural background roots. My family heritage comes from the islands of Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Great Britain. Growing up, it was important to my parents that my younger brother and I grew up learning our cultural roots and history.

My Travels of Studying Abroad
My first study abroad trip was in the Summer of 2015. I had the opportunity to go to Europe in a faculty lead class, in which we studied World WAR 1 and World War 2. For this program, I visited various counties such as: Great Britain, France, Belgium, and Amsterdam. This program truly inspired me to travel more. I learned so much about the history, culture, language, and social environment when exploring each country. I have to admit, I was a little nervous traveling overseas by myself with students I did not know. But, I think that is was makes studying abroad so exciting! I learned so much being around students from my school and after our study abroad trip that summer, we have all stayed in close communication with one another. Being that this was my first study abroad trip, it really opened my eyes to how big the world really is and definitely makes me want to travel and see more that is out there.
In the fall semester of 2017, I had an amazing opportunity to go Spain (Barcelona), for a affiliated program through Radford University study abroad program. I was living in Spain for four months, going to school and basically being a apart of the community as an average Spanish citizen. Going to Spain was another great opportunity I have ever done in my life. I learned so much about myself and grew into a young adult that strives to keep pursing success and wisdom. I meet many friends while done there and still keep in close contact with them and former professors. While In Spain, I was able to go to weekend trips to Granada, France (Nice), and Morocco. I will always cherish the moments I had in Spain and cannot wait to visit again.
