Ambition, International, Service
My ambitious personality was not always as driven as this. I believe everyone has a story about where they came from and how it brought them to where they are today. I would like to take the time to tell you my story, and how it changed my life forever. On August 9th, 2012, my brother and I survived a head on collision car accident. We were driving home from a family friends home that day. While driving I remember taking a glance at my brother resting on the passenger seat about to fall asleep while listening to music. When I glance back forward to the road, the last few seconds I could recall were seeing headlights heading right towards us in our lane. My brother was only 11 years old at the time, while I was 18 years old. We both suffered big injuries that will later leave us with arthritis as we grow older. My brother suffered a broken right femur bone and had to stay in the hospital to undergo surgery. As for myself, I fractured my right femur bone ( 23 stitches), broke my right metatarsal bones (toes) on my right foot, broke my left toe, and had a fractured right wrist. This event was the hardest thing me and my family had to ever overcome.
I was heading to my senior year of high school, and basically I missed everything there was to enjoy about your last year of being a high school senior. I was track runner, competitive swimmer, on my high school show choir team, and my Spanish/ fashion club. After my car accident, all of these hobbies I enjoyed went away. I started to slowly loose myself. I began to have depression and didn't know how to control my emotions or where my life would end up.

To deal with a devastating circumstance such as this was very difficult. By the guidance of my parents I was able to find my way to a future full of opportunities and happiness. To help me cope with my car accident and have self esteem again, my parents entered me in a bikini fitness model competition. This required me to diet for 2 1/2 months and train everyday twice a day. This not only strengthen my physical fitness but, it transformed my mindset to believe that anything is possible. After competing in my show, I never looked back. I gained self-confidence, wisdom, and strength in myself and everything that I do. Even though my car accident was a huge milestone to overcome, it changed my life for the better and I am proud of the women I am becoming.

A change in direction
